Our Story

Levity is the vision of Adrian Hope, a retired Army veteran, and Chera Howard Hope, a Physical Therapist. When Adrian retired in 2014, we left the Dominican Republic to come back to Colorado Springs for Adrian to attend UCCS for an MBA. After being away from Colorado for more than 15 years, we couldn’t wait for our family to enjoy skiing and all the great outdoor activities that beautiful Colorado has to offer.

During Chera’s 21 years of practicing physical therapy, she has listened as people talked about their high stress levels, sleeping difficulties, and overstimulated nervous systems, all having an impact on their pain level and function. Many of her patients, friends and family members were experiencing stress related symptoms, autoimmune disorders, sleep disturbances, anxiety and depression. During Adrian’s 20+ years serving in the military, he met many fellow military men and women suffering from untreated stress symptoms as well.

As we began to research options that could help people with stress-related symptoms, we started reading studies about Flotation Therapy. We became very excited about the many benefits that floating weightless in a sensory deprivation pod offered. Finally, an option to de-stress and eliminate the effects of gravity from muscles and joints, to give the brain a rest from the sensory over-load that daily bombards it, to bring a sense of peace and well being. We envisioned a float center, a sanctuary where people could leave the over stimulation of the world behind for a little while. Float, Relax, Restore.

We have had the privilege of traveling across the United States and throughout Latin America and experiencing physical therapy and wellness programs along the way. We spent a lot of time in the Dominican Republic and El Salvador and became involved in these communities including several orphanages for disabled children. Along the way we also read Blake Mycoskie’s book Start Something that Matters. Blake started TOMS shoe company on the premise that his company would donate a pair of shoes to a child in need for every pair of shoes purchased. We wanted to do something like that! Our vision of a wellness center began to take flight. Levity is the culmination of our desire to help people de-stress and feel better, and our passion for making a difference in the lives of children in need. The word Levity means happiness, joy, lightness, weightlessness.

We are a wellness center whose vision is to give back. While we focus on helping you feel your best and enjoy life to the fullest, we are together, supporting children in our community and in Latin America. Every float you purchase at Levity donates a portion of the money to Colorado Springs based children’s charities such as Hope and Home, and Casa de Luz orphanage for disabled children in the Dominican Republic.

When you invest in your own health and wellness at Levity, you are also investing in the lives of children in need. Help us make a difference!
